Operated by a 49-seater Embraer jet aircraft, the new route will offer business and leisure travellers the opportunity to reach the gateway to the north east of England twice daily Monday to Friday and on Sunday afternoon in just 75 minutes, from 82 euro per person including taxes one way.

In 2013, the carrier carried almost 500,000 passengers and was named Silver Airline of the Year at the annual European Regions Airline Association (ERA) awards in Austria last October.
Over recent years, Newcastle has developed into one of the key English cities, with a thriving nightlife, great shopping, a Premier League football club and of course, that great Geordie spirit. Its the gateway to Scotland and the north of England, with some of the UKs best attractions, including areas of natural beauty, historical buildings and beaches, within easy reach.
We re delighted to provide the only direct flight for travellers from the Belgian capital to the north east of England , said Cathal O Connell, CEO at bmi regional. Our Brussels to Newcastle service opens up opportunities for those travelling for business and pleasure.
Arnaud Feist, CEO at Brussels Airport Company, added: Newcastle has been a very important missing link in our extensive network to the UK. We are very pleased that bmi regional, multiple winner of the Brussels Airport punctuality award for regional airlines and a long term business partner for Brussels Airport, will commence direct flights to Newcastle
Chris Sanders, Aviation Development Director at Newcastle International Airport, said: We re delighted with the announcement that bmi regional will be operating a new Brussels service from 3 March. The route is a key hub both for business and leisure travellers and one we are sure will be very popular.
